From celebrity chefs to those who just can't get enough pineapple on their pies, people simply can't stop talking about the controversial food pairing. Surprisingly, though, some TikTok users have taken pineapple pizza to the next level, turning everything you know about the meal completely upside down and collectively horrifying some of the best-known celebrity chefs. In case you missed it, people are putting pizza on top of thick slices of pineapple. The video, posted by @foodnetwork, shows someone slicing a pineapple into thick sections, cutting bite-sized triangles out of a pepperoni pizza, then placing the bits of pizza on top of the pineapple slice. This creative but polarizing take on pineapple pizza is sending shockwaves through the internet, especially in the professional chef world. But will people get on board, or is traditional pineapple pizza more than enough for the world to handle?

If you're one of the few who can eat more pineapple than is humanly possible, especially with pizza, then you'll love TikTok's fun twist on your favorite food — but are you the only one?
As you might imagine, people are so divided on pineapple-topped pizza that not everyone would be willing to try their pizza on a huge hunk of pineapple. Although the video doesn't show anyone trying the pizza pineapple, it reveals Alex Guarnaschelli and Gabrielle Bertaccini's reactions to the creative pineapple snack. "I really can't," says Bertaccini right as Guarnaschelli shouts, "No!"

Clearly, some of our favorite chefs aren't fans of the whole pineapple-and-pizza thing, but the commenters on the video are eating up the entire spectacle, and some would try it, while other commenters are just as appalled that anyone could actually like pizza on pineapple. While switching up a typical pizza is pretty creative, pizza on pineapple may not have the crowd factor that other TikTok food trends do. Of course, only time will tell.
How to make your own pizza pineapple
There are plenty of variations on the pineapple topped with tiny pizza slices; thankfully, most are pretty straightforward. If you prefer homemade pizza to ordering takeout, you can make your own pizza pineapple without much time and effort.
According to TikTok, to turn your pizza upside down (and, evidentially, weird people out along the way), cut into a pineapple and chop off a thick round of the fruit. Carve into the pineapple with a spoon to have an indent in the middle of the slice, and top it with sauce, cheese, and your other toppings. Heat it in the oven until the pineapple juice begins to leak out of the base. You'll have your very own pizza primarily made of your favorite fruit. Although putting pizza on pineapple horrified some celebrity chefs, it might just be better than everyone thinks.
