Mushroom pasta covered in shredded cheese
The Canned Soup That Is Able To Double As A Creamy Pasta Sauce
By Riya Anne Polcastro
There are plenty of premade pasta sauces that will do fine with a little doctoring up, but if you don't have any sauce left in the pantry, you can use canned mushroom soup.
Like you'd want any cream-based pasta sauce to be, mushroom soup is well-seasoned with garlic while being velvety, and buttery. It goes well with all sorts of noodles.
The simplest way to use canned mushroom soup as a sauce is to heat it up on the stove or in your microwave, then pour it on top of your cooked pasta.
Cream of mushroom soup can be a bit thick and salty, so you can optionally add some pasta water or cream to thin out your sauce.
You can also add other ingredients to make it a heartier meal, including cooked beef, chicken, frozen shrimp, fresh or frozen mushrooms, and other vegetables.
Just warm it all up together in the microwave or a pot on the stove. Toss in some shredded cheese or top with parmesan as you would with your favorite pasta dishes.
