Sarah is a freelance writer with more than five years of experience in the food and beverage space. After college, she combined her passion for cooking with her love of writing and began freelancing in food media. Her love of eating led to hours spent cooking, baking, and recipe development. This translated to her pursuing a career in food journalism. She also writes for Wide Open Eats, specializing in Southern homestyle cooking.


A bachelor's degree in communications from California State University at Northridge helped Sarah launch her career in writing. In college, she landed her first professional writing job as the food reviewer for the Ventura County Reporter.
