  • Heather's currently working on trying every tapas bar in NYC.
  • She authored the memoir of a popular California chef.
  • She has a goal of cooking every recipe in "Kajitsu," the highly celebrated Zen Buddhist vegan cookbook released by the NYC restaurant of the same name.

Heather's first published work was a short book exploring the cultural impact of food through the lens of a potluck dinner. Schoolhouse Press published it when she was six years old, and the only copy was then eaten by a dog. She went on to start a food blog in the early aughts that celebrated cooking and eating in New York. She's written for Bustle and Wide Open Media, among others. These days, she writes about food for the internet and is trying to chase down the perfect tamale.

Heather attended SUNY Empire State College and pursued a degree in creative writing and gender in a cross-cultural perspective.
