  • Emily worked as a production assistant for an in-house catering service, creating menus and tweaking recipes to serve Houston's elite.
  • Her love of food and drink history comes from taking an introductory sommelier course while living in Rome.
  • She has tried every single flavor at her local bubble tea shop. The owners are tired of seeing her.

Emily's love of food history started as an undergraduate. Her course of study taught her all the ways that food preparation and consumption has changed since the ancient world ... and how things haven't really changed at all. She has worked as a professional writer since her 2015 graduation, founding the popular travel blog "She'a Trip" to explore the intersection of eating and exploration. Emily joined Alb Media in 2021.

Emily has a bachelor's degree in English and classics from Mount Holyoke College. Her liberal arts education enables her to research deeply and write about a variety of topics.
